Why Bruce? That's kind of hard to explain. His playing and writing has always resonated with me. Perhaps it's a shared appreciation for all kinds of music - folk,rock,classical,etc - and deciding to follow where those influences lead regardless of whether the end product fits anyone's musical niche.
Why Sad Moon?: To me, Sad Moon is two connected pieces - the vocal theme and then a variation. The subject matter is dark and sensuous,which is why I thought it would work at a slower tempo. As for the piano solo part - I just really wanted to play it!
