Rich Diakun

I am a part-time musician living in Hampton, VA. I grew up in Williamsburg, just a few years younger than Bruce. I studied music composition and arranging at The College of William and Mary and Virginia Commonwealth University, and played in many Richmond-area bands in the early 1980s (before they raised the drinking age from 18 to 21 and killed all the bars that hired bands!) After that, I went to work for a political campaign in southwestern Virginia, where I met Lisa, to whom I've been married since 1985. Like many musicians who discovered the need to pay bills, I make my living as a computer programmer and analyst.

I chose to do a version of "The Chill" because I thinks it's a really cool song and I wish more people were familiar with it. I also thought that it was, like most of the songs that Bruce writes, open to constant and creative reinterpretation. So, I reinterpreted it, sort of.
